Problem
Back in 2013, Ellie Beer and Paul Cain were at a local business exhibition and networking event in Ashford. One of the stands that they visited was Oakwood First Aid Limited, Ellie asked Kevin about his business and quickly found out that he needed a bookkeeper.

Kevin explained that he had been doing all his own bookkeeping and it had been eating into his weekends and evenings when he wanted to spend time with his family. Solution
Ellie initially completed Kevin’s bookkeeping using Sage, she would meet Kevin monthly to collect his paperwork and return the previous month’s work.
When Ellie left Cain & Co a year or so later the reins were handed to Sam, who is also based in Maidstone. Sam has continued to complete Oakwood First Aid’s bookkeeping initially using Sage Line 50 and for the past couple of years with Xero and Hubdoc.
These days Oakwood’s bookkeeping is completely automated with Kevin uploading his supplier and sales invoices into Hubdoc for Sam to code and publish into Xero. Kevin’s bank feeds have all been set up to meaning that Sam is able produce and file each quarter’s VAT returns in a swift fashion.
The bank statements are provided electronically too making the reconciliations a walk in the park.
